Chicago Park Hyatt

One of the reasons I love to stay in Hyatts is that I’ve achieved Globalist status and enjoy some amazing perks like free breakfast, free parking, early check-in, late check-out, and upgrades to suites when available. In addition, when you reach milestones, Hyatt awards guaranteed suite upgrades and free night certificates. Recently a couple of girlfriends and I headed to Chicago for long weekend. We arrived late Thursday and stayed at the airport Hyatt Place. We split the roughly $150 cost of the room. Hyatt Places have rooms with a King or two queens. All the rooms have a cozy sectional, that pulls out as an extra bed. In the morning, we checked into our downtown hotel, Chicago Park Hyatt, 42,000 points for two nights (low season). The Park Hyatt is in the heart of the city, overlooking the Water Tower. I applied a guaranteed suite certificate for our stay. I asked if there was any opportunity to give us a suite with two queen beds and a pullout and they had one available! We were wowed upon entering our 800-square foot 1-bedroom suite. Top notch service and facility! At breakfast, we spotted the famous Star Wars director George Lucas! My Southwest roundtrip flight was a combination of $55 plus 11,000 points. The cash price was $1,206 or 2.9 cents per point redemption.
