Cabo San Lucas

In January 2022 we took advantage of our daughter’s college break to go to Cabo San Lucas.  We were able to get tickets on Southwest Airlines using points.  I booked the tickets for 32K each for 3 of us with my husband using my companion pass.  Taxes and fees were a little higher than normal – about $137 each round trip.  We stayed at The Cape, a Thompson Hotel in Hyatt’s hotel collection for 5 nights and used 125K points saving over $2500, a 2 cents per point redemption. Our double queen room was large and had an awesome patio area. As a frequent traveler, we had globalist status which unlocked some additional perks for us including a wonderful breakfast each morning and free parking! If you travel a lot, this might be an opportunity that we can help you chase! This hotel has a beautiful pool overlooking the ocean – we did walk on the beach but it is not swimmable.  

We had a wonderful time with highlights including: two fantastic boating excursions with Rissalena boat company – a sunset dinner cruise and a whale watching lunch cruise; snorkeling on nearby beaches; visiting Flora Farms and San Jose; time at the hotel playing pool and having dinner and drinks on the rooftop.  Vacation was a 10 out of 10!
