London
Taylor Swift Concert
About the Trip & How We Did It
Having become a Swiftie over the past few years, I was all in for a trip to Europe for the 2024 Eras tour. My sisters, Mary and Joni along with Mary’s daughter Sydney joined in the fun. We started comparing our schedules and settled on middle of August, which meant we would go to Wembley Stadium in London. We immediately set out to organize our flights and hotels. We found repositioning to Dallas was our best option and we splurged a bit by staying at the Grand Hyatt inside DFW the night prior to our overseas flights. The hotel upgraded us with a suite and we spent our time before boarding the flight making friendship bracelets for the concert. We instantly bonded with other Swifties when they saw our bracelets!
In London, we chose Hyatt Regency Blackfriars for its location and amenities. The location was across the street from a tube station and we were able to travel within central London very easily. Our rooms proved to be very comfortable and they treated me with birthday cake and balloon. To recognize our Swiftie status, we were gifted with all the necessary items to make more friendship bracelets! We enjoyed some great tourist activities—a black taxi tour of London, a biking tour of London, a trip to Westminster Abbey, a fun Changing of the Guard tour, visited Borough Market, Harrod’s and more. Of course, the highlight was going to Wembley Stadium for the sold out Taylor Swift concert at the iconic Wembley Stadium. We all loved it!
How we booked it;
Flight to Dallas on Southwest, 8700 points plus $5.60 in taxes and fees.
Overnight in Dallas at Grand Hyatt 20,000 Hyatt points, transferred from Chase.
American Airlines to London, business class, Dallas to London, 62,000 points plus $11.20 in taxes and fees. These American Airlines points were earned with a sign up bonus.
Hyatt Regency Blackfriars, 4 nights, 64,000 Hyatt points, transferred from Chase.
British Airways, London to Dallas, business class 100,000 points transferred from Chase to Avios plus $450 in taxes and fees. (Unfortunately, we were not flexible with return date and paid a big premium in points and fees.)
We flew home on American Airlines and I opted to pay $160 cash.
