Phoenix
About the Trip & How We Did It
Mary and I did a last minute trip to Phoenix. We stayed at a luxury Hyatt property called the Royal Palms - now one of my favorite properties. It is situated next to Camelback Mountain and the beautiful gardens and architecture make it an oasis of beauty. We learned its fascinating history on a complimentary property tour we took the first day. The family that built it in the 1920s incorporated beautiful tiles, lighting, and art from their travels. The grounds and pool are stunning, the restaurant and bar offered delicious inventive food and drink options and it was a great place to relax. Service was impeccable throughout our stay.
I wouldn’t recommend this for a family stay as it caters to adults. Location is convenient to many restaurants and activities but not walkable to anything.
Here’s how we did it:
Mary had a Hyatt Category 1-7 certificate she had earned with her status so that paid for one night. The second night we paid 29K which was high season. You can reserve this hotel for as low as 21K.
We flew Southwest using my companion pass and spent about 20K plus $22.40 in taxes for both of us
