Honolulu

Honolulu

In May of 2022, our family spent a week in Honolulu.  I had globalist status with Hyatt and my companion pass through South West.  I used points to book the trip for three of us – approximately 40K roundtrip plus $11.20 each and paid only taxes for my husband.  I kept checking the tickets after booking and was able to save about 8K each by using the “change” feature with Southwest.  I booked 7 nights at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach – a large 2 Queen room.  Since we were globalists we had lounge access and free breakfast there each morning and several nights enjoyed appetizers and desserts.  Our parking fees and resort fees were waived.  Note: resort fees are waived on all Hyatt stays booked on points. We used 140,000 points, saving over $4500 on the hotel alone. This was a 3.2 cents per point redemption.

Highlights of our trip included:  hiking Diamond Head and Manoa Falls;  snorkeling at Hanauma Bay; North shore tour with multiple stops including Dole Pineapple Farm, a coffee farm, lunch at a shrimp truck, seeing sea turtles on Laniakea beach; visiting Pearl Harbor, and enjoying Hawaiian food and entertainment.

Hawaii was a favorite for the entire family!
